PhD position in the field of Machine Learning for Medical Data Analysis

Data Science is an integral part of modern medicine. This opens a number of important challenges for using Machine Learning and Data Modelling techniques.

The Viper group at the University of Geneva (Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Sciences), headed by Prof. S. Marchand-Maillet, in collaboration with the DMML group of Prof A. Kalousis opens a 4-year PhD position in the field of Machine Learning for Medical Data Analysis. The specific domain of interest is Flow Cytometry data modeling and analysis.

Applicants must hold a Master of Science and demonstrate a strong background in mathematics of high-dimensional spaces (linear algebra, optimization, probabilities, statistics,… ) along with practical capabilities (data management, programming, …). They should show an interest in collaborating with practitioners (medical professionals) and work with real data.

The PhD position includes with a 10% Teaching Assistantship duty in one of the course at the Department.

Starting date: as early as January 2022
